David Spahr

DAVID SPAHR was born in Paradise Township on September 23, 1835 and was christened November 28, 1835. He was the son of Jesse and Susan Elizabeth Baker (Becker) Spahr, of York County, Pennsylvania. He died at noon on April 25, 1910 after suffering for three days from a stroke of apoplexy. He was aged 75 years, 7 months, and 2 days. He was married on October 13, 1861 to Catherine Zinn by Rev. Jacob Kehm.

He was educated in the subscription schools of Paradise Township. He lived on a farm in Dover Township on the north side of Dairy Road, which was later owned by his son Jacob and is presently owned by Niles Shearer. Later he lived in the stone house on the northwest corner of the square at Bigmount, later owned by his daughter, Annie, and presently owned by Mrs. Kurvin Wilt.

Big Mount, April 25, 1910. After suffering for the past three days from a stroke of apoplexy, David Spahr, of this place, died at noon today. He was 75 years old. Surviving are a number of relatives.
